Lorazepam is a benzodiazepine that works in the brain to relieve symptoms of anxiety. ![]() It is also used for short-term relief of the symptoms of anxiety or anxiety caused by depression. Lorazepam is used to treat anxiety disorders. To reduce the risk of withdrawal reactions, use a gradual taper to discontinue lorazepam or reduce the dosage.
